Tim Brown is a well-known and respected security leader with over 25 years of experience and 18 issued security related patents, Tim has been a respected, trusted advisor and has gone as far as meeting with members of Congress and the Senate to the Situation Room in the White House and more. For the past seven years, Tim has been serving as SolarWinds CISO, overseeing internal IT security, product security, and security strategy. After the SUNBURST attack in December 2020, Tim led response and remediation efforts. During this time, Tim spoke to thousands of customers and has been instrumental in all customer remediation support and services. He has also worked closely with the SolarWinds ® CEO in designing the future state of security and their “Secure by Design” philosophy that aims to assist SolarWinds as well as benefit other market leaders. This new philosophy sets a precedent for preparing and responding to future cyberattacks in the new technology era where ultra sophisticated attacks are on the rise. Coming from Dell where he served as a Fellow and CTO, Tim deeply understands the challenges and aspirations as the person responsible for driving digital innovation and change and has spoken at multiple noteworthy events such as the Texas Cyber Summit, Black Hat, the Africa Executive Summit, CyberSecure, and the ISACA Conference North America. Today, Tim joins Cytactic’s Advisory Board, the first technology-smart platform for cyber crisis readiness, response and recovery – the new industry tailored way forward for significantly reducing the impact of a cyber crisis.
