Head, State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection, Ukraine
Yurii Shchyhol was born on November 5, 1983 in Zazymie village, Brovary district, Kyiv region, Ukraine.
In 2006 he graduated from the National University of the State Tax Service of Ukraine with a degree in law.
In 2017 he graduated from the University of Alfred Nobel with a degree in Finance and Credit.
From 2007 to 2008 he worked in the Baryshivka Tax Inspectorate of Kyiv Region.
From 2008 to 2009 he studied at the National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine.
From 2008 to 2020 he served in the military and in senior positions in the Security Service of Ukraine.
On July 8, 2020 he was appointed Head of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine is a state body designed to ensure the functioning and development of the state system of government communications, the National Confidential Communications System, the formation and implementation of state policy in the areas of cryptographic and technical information protection, cybersecurity, telecommunications, use of radio frequency resources of Ukraine, special purpose postal services, government courier services, as well as other tasks in accordance with the law.
